Where does The Q Train depart from?

The Q Train will primarily depart from Drysdale Railway Station, Drysdale, Victoria. See a map on the Getting Here page. However, during school holidays, or other peak times, The Q Train may depart from the Queenscliff Railway Station. We ask that you check your ticket carefully, and call us if you have any questions.

Can I park my car at the Drysdale Railway Station?

Yes, there is plenty of car parking at the Drysdale Railway Station.

How much does it cost?

Where does it travel?

The Q Train travels along the Bellarine Railway. We depart Drysdale Station, travel through Suma Park and Swan Bay, then turn around at Queenscliff to return to Drysdale.

However, during school holidays, or other peak times, The Q Train may depart from the Queenscliff Railway Station. We ask that you check your ticket carefully, and call us if you have any questions.

Does The Q Train allow for wheelchair access?

Due to sizing restrictions we are unable to board wheelchairs and walking frames onto the train. We can provide secure storage for your wheelchair for the duration of the trip, which will need to be prearranged. Please contact our booking office to discuss your requirements.

Is The Q Train air conditioned?

Yes, all of our cars are air-conditioned and heated.

Can I travel if I am pregnant?

Yes, you can travel if you are pregnant. However, please note that due to structure and space restrictions, there is limited fixed space between the front of the table and the back of the chair.

How many diners can be accommodated?

Currently, The Q Train seats 86 diners on three different carriages. Each dining car offers a different dining experience, please visit the Dining Cars page for more details. Both of the Q Class dining cars provide fixed table seating for groups of two or four, and we have two tables that seat six on the Q Class Dining Car. Due to structure and space restrictions, there is no provision for moving tables. If your group is larger than four people, please call us to discuss your seating. If you have a booking for one, three, or five people, please note that your table may be shared by another small group.

What is the dress code?

Smart casual.

Can you organise flowers or cakes?

Yes, flowers and cakes can be arranged. We will require at least 3 days’ notice to order these items.

What time does The Q Train start & finish?

The Q Train departs at 6.30pm sharp and concludes at approximately 10:00pm.
Please don’t be late – we simply cannot wait.

Refunds and Cancellation Policy

Unfortunately, refunds can only be given to cancellations advised to us 7 days before your scheduled train departs. Please refer our Terms and Conditions

Can I smoke on the train?

Smoking is strictly not permitted anywhere on The Q Train or under the station verandah canopies.
On the platforms, smoking is permitted in designated areas, or as instructed by train staff.

When does The Q Train operate?

What is included in the cost?

A delicious 6 course degustation, crafted from the finest local produce. Please see our Dining Cars page to see what is included in the two different booking options.

How is payment required?

Full payment is required for the ticket and meal at time of booking. We accept all major credit cards.
Drinks can be purchased on the train via eftpos, credit card or cash. An external booking agency fee may be applied at time of online booking.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes, please see our Menu page for more information about dietary requirements.

Is there a toilet on board?

The Q Train currently has limited toilets on board, but there are toilets at every station.

Can we have more than 6 people per table?

The Q Train restaurant provides fixed table style seating of 6, 4 or 2. There is no provision for moving tables and there is limited fixed space between the front of the table and the back of the chair. If your group is larger than six people, please call us to discuss your seating.

Will I get motion sickness?

The Q Train is a moving vehicle traveling at low speeds. If you are prone to motion sickness there is a possibility you may experience minor motion sickness. We recommend you face the direction of travel while on board.

What happens if I am running late?

Unfortunately, we can’t wait so please don’t be late.

Where does it travel?

The Q Train travels along the Bellarine Railway which starts at Drysdale travels through Suma Park, Swan Bay, Queenscliff and then returning to Drysdale. Please note, that if your ticket mentions a departure station at Queenscliff, then the same route is taken, but in reverse.

I have low vision, can my guide dog come on The Q Train?

Yes, we would love you and your guide dog to join us on The Q Train.

Is The Q Train suitable for children?

The Q Train cannot make provision for small children. This restriction has been carefully considered in the interests of health and safety. However, if your older child would enjoy our 6-course degustation, then they are more than welcome. We do not offer children’s fares or menus. Please make note of our late finishing time, the journey lasts approximately 4 hours.

Are any pets allowed on the train?

No, but we do welcome guide dogs!

Can I buy a gift voucher for The Q Train?

Yes! Gift vouchers are available for purchase here. These are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Gift vouchers are non refundable, nor are they redeemable for cash.
