Where does The Q Train depart from?
The Q Train will primarily depart from Drysdale Railway Station, Drysdale, Victoria. See a map on the Transport Options page. However, on select services The Q Train departs from the Queenscliff Railway Station. We ask that you check your confirmation email carefully, and call us if you have any questions.
Is there car parking available?
Yes, there is plenty of car parking at both Drysdale and Queenscliff Stations.
How much does it cost?
Where does it travel?
The Q Train travels along the Bellarine Railway. We depart from either Drysdale Station, travel through Suma Park and Swan Bay, then turn around at Queenscliff to return to Drysdale.
However, on select services The Q Train departs from the Queenscliff Railway Station. We ask that you check your confirmation email carefully, and call us if you have any questions.
What accessibility measures does The Q Train have in place?
Is The Q Train air conditioned?
Yes, all of our cars air-conditioned and heated. We use a negative pressure system for air conditioning, which brings in outside air from one end of the carriage, and expels it at the other end. This is unlike most domestic and commercial air conditioning systems which rely on circulating air within the carriage.
Can I travel if I am pregnant?
Yes, you can travel if you are pregnant. However, please note that due to structure and space restrictions, there is limited fixed space between the front of the table and the back of the chair. If you’d like the menu altered due to pregnancy restrictions, please let us know when booking.
How many diners can be accommodated?
Due to COVID-19 restriction, The Q Train seating capacity is greatly reduced. Each dining car offers a different dining experience and different table numbers, please visit the Pricing Info page for more details.
What is the dress code?
The Q Train is an exciting and unique experience. We ask that our patrons reflect this in smart casual. We ask that singlets and thongs not be worn.
What time does The Q Train start & finish?
The Q Train departure times vary. Our timetable shows when we depart, and from what station. We ask that you check your confirmation email carefully, and call us if you have any questions. Please don’t be late – we simply cannot wait. The journey lasts approximately 3 hours.
Refunds and Cancellation Policy
We do not offer refunds, however if we receive 72 hours’ notice for cancellation we will reschedule you on a journey at the time of your choosing, subject to availability. Please refer our Terms and Conditions
Can I smoke on the train?
Smoking is strictly not permitted anywhere on The Q Train or under the station verandah canopies.
On the platforms, smoking is permitted in designated areas, or as instructed by train staff.
Can I buy a gift card for The Q Train?
Can I have flowers delivered to The Q Train?

How is payment required?
If you book online, full payment is required at time of booking. We accept all major credit cards. However, if you booking via phone, payment is required within 3 days. However, please note that your booking is not confirmed until payment has been received in full.
Drinks can be purchased on the train via eftpos, credit card or cash.
Do you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes, Our carefully designed degustation experience includes vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, nut free, and lactose free alterations upon request. Other diets, and preferences or dislikes are unlikely to be accommodated due to the limited kitchen and storage space on board The Q Train. Please note that we do need to know about dietary requirements before your booking. Due to space restrictions, we are unable to make alterations on the day of service. Please see our Menu page for more information about dietary requirements.
Is there a toilet on board?
Each carriage has a toilet on board, however they cannot be used when the train is stationary. There are also toilets at every station.
Can we have more than 6 people per table?
The Q Train restaurant provides fixed table style seating in Q Class for 6, 4 or 2 and in First Class private dining compartments for 2, 6 or 10. There is no provision for moving tables and there is limited fixed space between the front of the table and the back of the chair. If your group is larger than six people in Q Class, please call us to discuss your seating.
Will I get motion sickness?
The Q Train is a moving vehicle travelling at low speeds. If you are prone to motion sickness there is a possibility you may experience minor motion sickness. We recommend you face the direction of travel while on board.

I have low vision, can my guide dog come on The Q Train?
Yes, we would love you and your guide dog to join us on The Q Train.
Is The Q Train suitable for children?
The Q Train cannot make provision for small children. This restriction has been carefully considered in the interests of health and safety. However, if your older child would enjoy our degustation, then they are more than welcome. We do not offer children’s fares or menus. Please make note of our late finishing time, the journey lasts approximately 3 hours.
Are any pets allowed on the train?
No, but we do welcome guide dogs!
I’ve received a gift card; how can I redeem it?
Due to the restrictions placed on our seating capacity at the moment, we will be limiting the number of gift vouchers redeemed per service. To book using your gift voucher please send us an email.
A note about ‘false vouchers’: Unfortunately, unscrupulous people sometimes print fake vouchers, often leaving customers and businesses disappointed. Valid, authentic vouchers from The Q Train contain a unique voucher number and an expiry date. Only vouchers meeting these criteria are able to be redeemed. If you have any questions about a voucher that you have received, send us an email and we will be happy to help.
