Your dining journey includes a classic winter collection of local produce from Geelong, Bellarine and the Otways. Click here to view our Winter set menu. Please note that items may be subject to change, due to product availability. Our Winter menu is running until Monday September 9th, with a new Spring menu starting on Thursday 12th September.

Using locally owned and ethical producers, our menu is cooked and prepared on board The Q Train. We do not have an offsite kitchen, so everything is cooked in our kitchen carriage, which you are welcome to visit during your journey.

Please let us know of any dietary requirements when booking online. We need to know these in advance, and cannot make provision for vegetarians, vegans, gluten free or dairy free without prior notice.

Our beverage offerings showcase our region, and incorporate beers, wines and ciders. Our wait staff are happy to help you choose your perfect tipple by the bottle or glass. We also serve a limited range of local and imported spirits.*

MENU FAQs

We know that dining on board a train is a unique experience, and therefore it can be difficult to know what to expect. The Q Train offers a relaxed and enjoyable 5 course meal that pairs beautifully with your rail journey through the heart of the Bellarine.

I’ve had a look at your menu, and what happens if I don’t eat a particular ingredient? The Q Train does not have an offsite kitchen or store room – everything is cooked and stored onboard our train. That means that we are limited in our ability to offer variations to our set menu. Dietary requirements and preferences are accommodated using the offerings in the menus above. If, for example, you don’t eat pork then we substitute the corresponding vegetarian dish for that pork dish. If you need an ingredient removed, we do what we can to remove that ingredient without compromising the dish. However, we simply do not have the space in our on board kitchen to cook different meals for people based on their preferences. We encourage you to contact us before booking if you have dietary requirements that differ from pescatarian, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free or dairy free because we may not be able to accommodate your requirements.

I’m vegetarian, vegan, or pescatarian. Will I miss out? Absolutely not! We just need to know in advance, so please make a note on your booking. If you look at our menus above, you will see that our vegetarian menu has been carefully curated using the best local suppliers. These dishes have been designed to complement the omnivorous menu, so that everyone is taken on a similar dining journey. Our vegan menu changes based on product availability, but closely matches the vegetarian offering.

Will I be too full or still hungry at the end? Just like baby bear’s porridge, we think the amount you receive over your three hour culinary journey is just right. The portions are carefully planned so you can appreciate every course, and not be uncomfortable when you leave. Of course, not everyone is the same. Don’t starve yourself to ‘make room’ before you come, and if you’re coming for lunch, you will still have room for dinner that night.
